MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is one the most credible and vital test which any management aspirant must clear. It is a common entrance test conducted in major cities of India and abroad by All India Management Association (AIMA). With time post graduation in management is not just restricted to students with graduation degree in management; other fields of education say architecture, science, engineering, humanities have also shown keen interest to explore management programmes.

For all the post graduation courses of MBA and especially for PGDM and PGDITM MAT score is inevitable and the basic criterion of selecting a student for the top management institutes in India. The test is conducted four times a year i.e. in the month of February, May, September and December.

The minimum qualification required to opt for MAT test is graduation and students who are appearing in the last year of their graduation can also apply. MAT’s questionnaire is segregated under 5 heads, Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment. Each part is of 40 marks which makes a total of 200.

It is really important to make one acquainted with type of questions and pattern in which they are asked and the best way to do it; is to practice a lot of sample papers available in the market. The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is required for pursuing PGDM or MBA programs in a number of reputed institutes, colleges and universities. In this test, you will come across 100 analogies on wide subject areas like social science, literature and mathematics to name few.

This exam is conducted by the Center for Management Services (CMS) which is a component of All India Management Association (AIIMA). The exam is conducted on quarterly basis.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an affiliated university or equivalent. Those awaiting their final year’s results or appearing for the final year exam can also appear in the exam.
  • No minimum marks limit is set for this exam.
  • No minimum age limit is set by the exam conducting authority.
