eXaudio

(Latin verb - to hear plainly; to hear favorably, listen to)

(Christian Rock)

"Hear the message!"

"Music that goes straight to your heart"

Where are they from?

Steve (lead vocals) is from Hampden, MA (Springfield area); Brian (bass/guitar/vocals) and Matt (bass/guitar/vocals) are from the Hartford, CT area; Mel (drums/percussion) is from the New London, CT area. In 2005, Steve had a few contemporary Catholic songs on CD that he had written and recorded in local recording studios near Springfield, MA. He had the idea that these songs might inspire people, so he began the search for other musicians who might be interested in playing live shows to spread the Gospel. One of Steve's friends (Todd) had Brian's business card, so Steve gave Brian a call but Brian told Steve that he was not interested because he was too busy. Brian was involved that summer with many other musical projects, and didn’t think he could take on more. “Oh well, I guess that's that”, Steve said. “Some things just aren't meant to be”. …….a few months later Steve thought, "Hold on here, this guy hasn't even heard these songs, he may like them." So Steve called Brian back and Brian agreed that if Steve sent the songs in the mail that he'd listen to them. Steve asked if he could visit Brian with his CD instead. Brian agreed and when he met Steve, he realized that Steve’s music was so filled with the faith, that he was inspired to re-focus his energy and make this band a priority.

Steve, looking for a band name with great significance found the definition of the Latin verb, eXaudio, as [to hear plainly; to hear favorably, listen to].

…….and so, eXaudio was born.

Brian's friend John Umanetz who Brian had gigged with for many years in several bands as the drummer, soon joined eXaudio. Then came Matt Bureau who was Brian's cousin; Brian had also played music with Matt in several bands, since shortly after they were born.

By the summer of 2005, eXaudio was playing parish picnics and youth groups. …….eXaudio is most honored to have St. Mary’s/St. Rose/St. Isaac Jogues Youth Group in East Hartford, CT under Tony & Aileen Matta as their biggest fans. ……..in addition to their wonderful family and friends, of course!

In the fall of 2006, eXaudio created and recorded their 1st album, "Universal". This recording features an originally written Steve Kibbe song for Mother Teresa which continues to be included on her official website, http://www.motherteresa.org (Go to Creative Presentations/Music/Mother Teresa by Steven Kibbe). It is eXaudio’s hope that when Canonized, this particular song may be among those chosen to honor her in Rome.

A local Catholic TV program called ‘Real to Reel’ heard about eXaudio; they made their first television appearance on this program. Also, a local Christian radio station started spinning a few songs off the CD.

In the spring of 2007, John Umanetz moved with his family to West Virginia. Matt knew a drummer (Mel Corcino) from his music store "The Music Bureau" (sales/lessons) in Salem, CT – and in the summer of the same year, eXaudio had a new drummer. Mel’s Latin culture has influenced the rhythm on their 2nd CD that will make your feet naturally ‘dance with the Lord’. By the fall of 2007, their 2nd CD, "Time to come Alive" was recorded as the band was cheering on the Red Sox to victory!! In the winter of 2007, Steve took a short sabbatical from eXaudio but the band (inspired by the Holy Spirit) continued to gig and write songs, as a trio. To help fill the void of Steve, Brian’s wife Cathy lent her voice in a few songs & choreography. Out of the blue, Steve got a call from a radio station in Boston inquiring about eXaudio; they were wondering if the band could do an interview on air - this marked the end of Steve’s sabbatical.

eXaudio continues to gig and write new songs; they expect to release more CDs in the future, so please stay tuned!!!!!!

‘We hope that you will enjoy, be moved and inspired by our music’!
