At one time in his life, a friend of mine did not believe that God desires to prosper His children. For him, it was a far fetched idea. To be wealthy was from the devil; to have too much seemed ungodly; and to have nice things: luxury car, big house, etc., was not being Christian like. This was more or less his belief.

But, do you know that there are many Christians today, who believe the same way. For God to give them nice things like a new car, a bigger house, more money, so that they can take a vacation overseas once per year, is not biblical. It seems that the Christian thing for them to do is to live from pay cheque to pay cheque; from meal to meal. It seems that, to do otherwise is not godly. It appears as though, to expect God to prosper them is wrong; and to believe that He wants them to have more than enough, is not what He desires for them.

One day the Lord revealed a portion of scripture to my friend, and his attitude and belief instantly changed!

“Save now, I pray, O Lord; O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.” Psalm 118:25

For the first time in his life he realized that God desires to prosper His children. He recognized that prosperity is for the children of God! His life changed after that.

I pray that you will see what my friend saw. And I hope that you will believe the Lord Jesus Christ to prosper you even in these tough times. He is able! Remember Isaac.
