Here are some reasons why the upload is interrupted or stuck:
- Instability of your internet connection Solution: Either use “Secure Uploader” which is immune against the most types of connection interruptions or try it again later.
- You switched off Computer during Upload Solution: Please make sure that your computer stays on and online until the upload is completed
- Your computer changed the network (e.g. when you have access to multiple wireless networks) during upload Solution: Either use “Secure Uploader” which is able to handle network switches or make sure your computer stays connected to one single network until the upload is completed
- Network Problem somewhere on the route between your computer and our servers Solution: Either use “Secure Uploader” which is immune against the most types of connection interruptions or try it again later. Technical experienced users can also do a traceroute to lightcast.com to check the network route.
- Other applications on your computer affecting stability of Upload Solution: Please check free RAM and diskspace of your computer and close all applications which perform internet activities.
- Your computer’s Firewall is blocking the communication to lightcast Solution: Try disabling your firewall to check if that is the reason. If that helps please reconfigure your firewall to let all requests from and to lightcast.com pass.
- Sites in other tabs in browser affecting stability of Upload Solution: Please close all other tabs and try it again.
- File is larger than 2048MB Solution: Please re-encode your video file to fit into the 2048MB restriction. Most systems or system components can’t handle files bigger than 2048MB well, so we decided to set the limit here.
- The upload service on lightcast servers crashed Solution: Please try again 15 min later. That shouldn’t happen too often and should be quickly resolved from our side.
- Webservers on lightcast servers or Web browser closed connection due to a timeout situation Solution: Please use “Secure Uploader” which should be immune due to most kinds of timeouts
- Firewall on lightcast servers blocks your computer
- Webservers on lightcast are overloaded Solution: Please try again 15 min later. That shouldn’t happen too often and should be quickly resolved from our side.
- Lightcast Storage server crashed or is overloaded Solution: Please try again 15 min later. That shouldn’t happen too often and should be quickly resolved from our side. |
