Welcome to the 2nd section on Ephesus Church

We started last time in the section on the Ephesus church in the book of Revelations.

And then I went on in Acts 19.

And in Acts 19 from verse 13 to 20 we see that there were some sons, Jewish spirit exorcists, who dared to mention the name of Jesus about those who had evil spirits in them, saying, I adjure you by the Jesus that Paul preaches. And it was 7 sons of a certain Skevas a Jewish chief priest who did this. But the evil spirit answered and said to them, I know Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you? And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped upon them and overpowered them, and proved so much stronger than they, that they had to flee from that house stripped naked and wounded.

And then we find out a few verses down, that the people who were converted (verse 18) And many of those who had become believers came to make full confession their former deceptive and evil  and declare what they had done, and many of those who had practiced curious magical arts, brought their books. gather and burn them in the sight of everybody. And they calculated the value of it and set it at 50,000 pieces of silver (about 5.5 million Euros). And so the word of the Lord grew and spread forth with power and grew stronger. And then we find out in the next bit, it's talking about Demetrius making the Artemis idols ... And when we go out on the street or other places to tell the people the gospel, we can all stand these kinds of things. come. But we can't if we don't have a foundation in our life. If we don't know who we are in Christ? WHO ARE WE IN CHRIST? We can discover this, for example, when we read the Ephesian letter.

And certainly in the first part in chapter 1: 3-14. The letter to the Ephesians was written about 60 years AD, during Paul's 2 years imprisonment in Rome. Addressed to the church of Ephesus, but also to the universal church worldwide. This is evident from the further sections discussed later. Where it is about how we should live as Christians and about the armor. So that is not only for the people in the Ephesian church, but also for us today. Especially in this day and age. And then it says in verse 3, Blessed (praise and eulogy) be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. We Can bless the Lord in our prayer as He blesses us. Our Lord Jesus Christ the Son and the Father. "And He (the Father) chose us before the foundation of the world SO THAT we ..." When you read the Bible, always pay attention, WHAT does it say? WHO is being spoken to? WHO SPEAKS TO YOU? WHO SPEAKS TO ME? "And He (the Father) chose us before the foundation of the world, (That means that God did it for a purpose, we were made for a purpose)" that we should be holy and blameless before Him. " That's the goal, we are THE BODY OF CHRIST. When we as Christians walk here on earth, then the world looks at us and if it is good they see Christ walking, they see a part of God walking. We are the body of Christ on earth. So they see a cell of the body of Christ HE HIMSELF IS HEAD OF.

And in verse 5 we read, “In love He (the Father) predestinated us to be adopted as sons of Him. To be ADOPTED by Jesus Christ and the Father. We have been adopted AS SONS. Not just to be religious people as we just read about those sons of Skevas, they were sons of a religious family. They were the sons of a priest. That father might not have been able to help it, or might not have taught them properly ... But the sons who thought they could cast out demons for a moment in the Name of Jesus that Paul preached. Don't try it, don't do it, it's perilous UNLESS you are born again and baptized with the Holy Ghost. And then only if the Holy Spirit reveals you first. “In love, He adopted us beforehand as sons and were adopted by Jesus Christ. We are not just adopted, we are adopted as full children of God. "To all that received Him, He gave power to become a child of God" John 1:12. But before the foundation of the world, God already destined us to become His sons and daughters. If we come to Jesus, if we accept the sacrifice of Jesus, then the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us, then we become FULLY CHILDREN OF GOD then we are BORN IN HIM too. In verse 5 we read, In love He foreordained us, according to the good pleasure of His will, according to His plan, His design. He is the architect of everything He made, Paul says in Hebrews 11: 13-16. Of everything we are and have and what we can do. He shows us the way. And in Him, in Jesus we have the REDEMPTION (deliverance and salvation)
THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of our transgressions. (Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1: 7) We have redemption through His blood, through His sacrifice at Calvary, the forgiveness of our offenses (shortcommings and trespasses). He has cleansed us when we confess our sins, then God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1: 9. And that's what He has done for us. But we must come to Him and confess our sins so that we are clean and pure. We have also read that here before. For the PURPOSE that we should be clean and blameless in His sight. We read that in verse 4.

and so in verse 7 it says ... And in Him, in Jesus, we have redemption, through His blood the forgiveness of our sins ... of our transgressions. In verse 8 we read: His grace which He has abundantly shown to us in all wisdom and understanding… In all PRACTICAL INSIGHT .. When we read the Amplified translation and we see: that He has abundantly proved to us His grace in all practical insight. We don't just get an anointing to shout hallelujah ... but to actually bear fruit in our lives.

For one it will be with hands, for another with his mouth and ears and another with the readiness of the gospel when he / she sets out.

Practical insight, God has used practical insight for His purpose, His design. It was made for a purpose. Then in verse 9 we read: By making known to us the mystery, secret,  of His will.

You only give away the secret of your will to someone you really know and trust, to a real son or daughter ... a partner in your ministry. In harmony with the good pleasure that the Father purposed in Jesus His Son. He has revealed to us the mystery of His will ... FOR A PURPOSE !. In verse 10 we read: In PREPARATION for the fulness the times to hold all that is in heaven and in the earth UNDER ONE HEAD (That is Christ). His sons, His church, His body, God has placed under Jesus Christ's head. We are the body and Jesus is the head. He thinks about what is good for us. He thinks about what He wants to do because He hears it from the Father. Jesus could not do anything (on earth) without first hearing or seeing the Father. And so we cannot do anything (eternal) without first hearing and seeing from the Father and the Lord Jesus.

That is why A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD is so important for the Holy Spirit to work in your mind. That He renews your thinking. Our thinking needs to be renewed. (understanding spiritual learning bc. God is Spirit).

In verse 10 we read: To prepare the times ... All those things that God works out in our life, molds us, and makes us in His image, is in preparation for the fulness of times. So we are on the way. Led by the Holy Spirit and in the footsteps of Jesus to be prepared for the fulness of times.

Everything in heaven and on earth can be summed up under one head (Christ). It is important that we in that unity with the trinity of God, Father Son and Holy Spirit and you personally, that that is a unity that nothing can come in between. That God really has the first place in you and my life. In verse 11: In Him, we are also were made God’s heritage, and in whom we also receive the inheritance to which we were predestined by purpose, by His plan, Him who works in all things according to the counsel and design of His will. God, if we are on our way with God and we do His will, He can also perfect us, then He can prepare us for the task He wants to work through us, if we are a pure and clean channel. Then we can also receive the inheritance, the Holy Spirit. God doesn't give us the Holy Spirit ... and I've said it before, to sit in a chair or just call out halelujah ... But to dedicate be interchangeable in His Kingdom. Jesus went about doing good, preaching, testifying, healing, and delivering all who were overpowered by the devil. Acts 10:38. And that is also our example.  (1.John 2:6) And if you can't go out because you're disabled or can't go out for whatever reason, you can always pray. Praying for missionaries, for your pastors, for your church, for your brother and sister who is sick or weak. For the elderly, you can pray for so many people ... for the persecuted Christians ...

In Him in whom we have also received the inheritance to which we were predestined by purpose, according to the plan of Him who works all this according to the counsel of His will. Verse 12: That we might are to the praise, of His glory. We who had previously built our hope in Christ.

We had built our hope in Christ, but He is perfecting us SO THAT HE may be glorified. May His name be given honor and glory. Verse 13: In Him you also are AFTER you HAVE HEARD THE WORD of truth, the glad tidings,  the gospel for your salvation. Once we HEAR the word AND ACCEPT IT we come IN CHRIST, born in and hid with Jesus in God. In Him you also are, after you have heard the word truth, the gospel of salvation. So we are not born, you can be born into a Christian family, but you need to HEAR THE WORD TO COME TO FAITH (Romans 10:17) to come to faith in person. Hear the gospel for your salvation / salvation. In Him you are when you believed and relied in Him, ALSO SEALED WITH THE long promised HOLY SPIRIT.  Do you see? It says in Ephesians 1:13 IN HIM, when you came to faith in Him, you are also SEALED with the HOLY SPIRIT of promise.

For God is a verifier of His word. The Holy Spirit who is a pledge of our inheritance, for Jesus died for it so that He could make the way so that His Holy Spirit could be sent to you and me. For the redemption of the people (see also: Acts 2: 14-40) which He has acquired to the praise of His glory. We are not saved for ourselves just to have a nice cozy life, no, we are saved to save others and above all that the people that He has acquired should live to the praise of His glory. We are saved to praise and give glory to the Lord THROUGH our lives, through what we do and confess (Romans 10:9-10) we bring glory to Jesus and the Father.

The Lord bless you all
