The Family
Jan 2nd 2010 - Update on Carl
Carl is home and is feeling better with the treatment he is able to have. A few days ago he had to have 2 blood transfusions because his hemogloben ct was very low. But as of today he is feeling much better. He has gained alittle weight which is good and is able to eat alittle more and keep it down. Thank you for your continued prayer for him and the family. Please continue to pray for his youngest son that has still not committed his life to the Lord and David is taking this very hard. We are believing David will turn his life over to the Lord. May God Bless each of you this coming New Year, LilMarie
Dec 10th - Update on Carl
Thank you so much for all your prayers we could feel them. We met the family in Duluth on Tues after their consultation with the Specilist. He was very open and honest with them and said Carl could have 3 to 6 mo. He explained that he would like to try a form of Chemo that is used to help for comfort and pain. Carl had another cat scan which we felt was positive, it showed he had less inflamation in his pancreas this time and the reason he was turning so yellow wasn't because he was having liver shut down it was because the stint they put in had collapsed so they put another one in and this time it was stainless steel. He was able to eat and sit up with us and we felt we had a good visit with him and all the family that was with us. He was able to go back home and now he will have a visiting nurse that will come to the house every day. We all had to drive home in the aftermath for the bad snow storm here in Mn. God gave us a safe trip home and we are so thankful for that. Today Carl had a good day and we all believe as long as there is life there is hope and we are thanking God for all the wonderful folks that have been praying for Carl & Naomi. We serve an Awesome God and we Praise and Thank Him for sending Peace & Comfort to everyone. Thanks again LilMarie

Prayer and Praise
Dec. 3rd, 2009
Don
Don and his family have just shared with their prayer cell group that he has been only given a couple of months to live. Six months if he continues the radiation. They did the surgery because of the pain, stomach upset and etc. He and his family are devastated. Pray that the Lord will give him peace. I remember how I prayed that the Lord would reveal to me if His plans were to take me home and that he would prepare me for it if that was his will. I had such peace. I think once about 6 months after my cancer surgery I cried over it. And that was only one time. To experience something like that is in itself a huge miracle. It is as great a miracle as healing itself. Pray for Don and his family. Pray that he will enjoy great peace as he prepares to meet the Lord face to face.
Sharon
Sharon is an outstanding leader in her congregation. She is in her late 50's. I believe she was doing the treadmill test when they had to stop it because there was a blockage. She is to have an ecko cardigram. Pray for the medical team that is working with her that the Lord would give them wisdom. Pray for her that the Lord will guide her also. She is a very capable worker for the Lord and has many responsibilities.
Diane
Last March she passed out while at work and they finally diagnosed her with neuro cardiogenic syncope. I recall that back then her husband Rex was thinking of taking her to Mayo Clinic in Mn. She was still experiencing some "grey outs" They are praying that by the weekend they will have some news that will tell them if there is treatment for what she has or if she has to learn to "live with it." Pray that the doctors there will be guided by our Heavenly Father as they study her case and that the Lord's complete will be done in and for her. Pray for her family also.
Carl
Night before last he had to be taken to the hospital about midnight. He was in pain and wasn't able to keep anything down including his pain medications. He is extremely weak and they are going to try to set up a program for him so he will have a home nurse visit every day. His family believes that unless God performs a miracle he will be going home to Heaven. It is hard for them, not knowing what God's will for them is. Their son was able to go home day before yesterday and be with his wife Naomi. Naomi's sister (who is sending in this request) is able to speak with her daily on the phone but can't physically be with her at this time. Pray for her as she ministers encouragement to her sister. They also need prayer for the doctors who are doing all they can do for Carl and pray for peace for both Carl and Naomi.
Luis
This request came in during our Wednesday Evening Bible Study yesterday. Luis Flores is from Zacatecas (a state in Mexico) and is still not feeling well. Continue to lift him up in prayer before the Lord.
Family in Need
One of my "regulars" asks prayer for his family. There is drinking involved and that always brings with it many problems. Emotional stress, financial needs, family members interaction with each other and etc. Pray that the Lord will cause this person to want and then to seek help. Also lift up those in the family who are suffering.
Angioplasty
Another of our folks is preparing for angioplasty. During the procedure they will be putting in some stents that will remain in place and the artery will heal around them. They also reduce the risk of reblockage. Pray for a successful procedure and the peace that passes understanding.

The Technology
As we see the world drift farther and farther away from the Lord and His work the internet will come under attack but I believe because of it's world wide acceptance and custom it will remain open for ministry. Right now Live Video (the one I use) experiences a lot of technical problems. I'm there because another that I belonged to closed down. Some of my viewers are encouraging me to also preach on another similar media. Most of the messages are archived and eventually are viewed by a few hundred. One is approaching the 1,000 mark. I am amazed at how much hunger there is for "old fashioned preaching" and much interest in knowing what the Bible says about much of what is going on in the world today. I'm really blessed to be a part of all this.
Personal
Since july when I was hospitalized for 2 weeks with the knee problem which brought to the forefront the Baker's cyst and the blood clots I have never had success in regulating the amount of anti-coagulant medication. I've only tested normal twice. When it's too low there's a danger of a clot breaking off and when it's too high, as it is now, there is a danger of bleeding. In addition to changes the doctor made yesterday I notified his office that I was discontinuing another medication that has been known to create problems when taken along with coumadin. I didn't think it was helping me anyway and therefore not worth the risk. God bless my doctors who have to put up with me. Because I was on so many antibiotics which they had to give me because I had been on chemo it takes a longer time to regulate this medication but it's time now that it should start to cooperate. I stopped the chemo and have no more cancer but because of the above I'm tired all the time. So keep the preacher in your prayers. (That's what most people call me - there are those who call me Pastor Barbara but most people refer to me as the preacher.)
